Can I submit a double page spread for example be 20"x14" using only one image? And will that count as two?
For Flush Mount Albums, you can submit your your double page layouts as a single image. However, we will then cut the image into two halves leaving a small gap in the middle. Alternatively, we can crease the image, without a gap in the middle, however you will need to request this when sending your image

What Software Do I Need To Design layouts?
This comes down to affordability, and preference. Adobe Photo Shop is the most popular software, however you might wish to trial other less expensive software such as Adobe Elements, Corel Paint or InDesign. There also free editing software available such as GIMP or Photo Pad Image Editor.

Do I need to worry about Color Correcting the Images and / or Layouts
This only applies if you are sending us your files for printing/output and is entirely your responsibility. Remember that if you have white space around your images, you will need to include crop marks so we know where the edge of your imag/s are.

Where do I send the Digital Files containing the layouts to you?

This only applies if you are sending us your files for printing/output. You will need to send your files on CD or DVD to: Designer Folders, PO Box 206, UNDERWOOD, QLD AUSTRALIA 4119, using a method of delivery of your choice.

How do I Prepare the layouts before sending them to you(only applies if we are printing your files)

File Format Requirements
The required format is full size jpeg. If you are sending a DVD to our postal address you can use flattened Tiff or full size jpeg.
Layout Size Requirements
This is determined by the album page size you have chosen. For examp;e, a 10 x 14" flush mount album requires an image for page layout which is also 10x14". Always keep in mind the trim size limitations (see below)
Resolution & File Size Requirements
This depends on your chosen album size; for example, if you wish to purchase a 10 x 14" album, please supply your file size as 10x14" at 300 dpi
Trim Sizes
Please be aware that you will loose about 3-4mm around the edges of your image. This is called the 'Trim'. Please do not place any crucial subject matter within this area.

How is a Digital Flush Mount Album different to a Matted Album?
The distinguishing feature between Flush Mount Albums and other , more traditional Matted albums is that Flush Mount Albums consist of rigid pages made of 'card' with the photo prints dry mounted on either side of that card, creating a rigid seamless page.
This is why the images are dry mounted. The page of the Flush Mount Album appears rigid and is constructed entirely of a single print which extends flush to the edges.

Whereas the matted album, features a cardboard Mat/Overlay or frame which sits over the top of your images to hold them in and help protect them.

MATTED ALBUM FAQ

A matted album, features a cardboard Mat/Overlay or frame which sits over the top of your images to hold them in and help protect them. These are still our most popular albums and tend to look less "busier" or "cluttered" than the Digital Flushmount Albums.

Do I need to send you my images?
NO, unless you want us to assemble all your images into your album, which we charge for. It is very easy, especially with the Art Bookbound albums, preassembled with the mats already attached
, you simply slide your images in from the top of the mat, which we leave unattached (open) and secure them in final position using a small amount of double sided tape

What is a Page ? What is a Leaf?
Leaf is the proper term to describe an album page. Each album leaf contains two sides, just as pages within a book do.

Can I still have Images Flushmounted in a Matted Album?
YES, however this should be limited to about 4 or 5 so as not to effect the overall way the album sits. We can attach a repositionable adhesive to these album sides to allow you to DIY attach and trim your own images flush to the edge of the album
